"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything". (James 1:2-4) It's no secret that in this life the strong winds of trouble will blow. And sometimes, it even feels like they will never stop blowing. And during these times, we so often become more focused on the winds of adversity, that we take our eyes off of God, who He is, and how He can change ANY situation around. When we do this, we begin to shift and sway endlessly like the winds of adversity themselves. But what we have to realize is that the very minute we take our focus off of God, we become more focused on the winds of adversity at hand. And if we don't realize what we are doing in that very moment, we often miss the opportunity to see what God is trying to do during such trying times.
It is so important that we learn that while the winds of adversity will blow, the winds of God's peace and comfort will blow as well. All we need to do is stay focused and keep our eyes on God. We have to learn that "trouble will not last always"! We have to learn to look at the "big picture" when it comes to the winds of adversity. If we learn to look at the "big picture" continually-in the midst of pain and hurt-we learn to be at peace more. And if we can master our adversity in life, because we continue to walk in peace, then the winds of adversity would lose power over our thoughts, our behaviors, our attitudes, our minds! It is so important that we learn how to keep our peace, regardless of what's going on around us, and sometimes within us.
I have said once before, and I say it again,, "'peace is priceless"! Well, that saying goes as a general statement, as well as, as a mind regulator when we enter a season of adversity. So why not take the opportunity to continue to chase peace, and make peace your mindset, while you are in a period of adversity? While you have entered a season of struggles? As the winds of continual adversity blow/come, why not allow the winds of adversity to guide us right into the winds of peace?
