Seeing Yourself The Way God Sees You

Updated: Nov 11, 2019

I have had many years of seeing myself in the way that I wanted to see myself. It wasn't until the last few years that I got the realization that I had been struggling so bad in many areas (financially, personally, professionally) because I had chosen to develop a vision for myself, without first consulting God. After I had arrived to the very bottom, due to many faulty mistakes and sins, I had to realize that I had gotten to this place because of my own decisions. I realized that everything had just gotten so hard for me all of a sudden, because I had allowed the enemy to come in and not God. As a result of letting him in, I redirected my thoughts inappropriately, I acted in-some ways, inappropriately. As a result, I was paying a very heavy price! I didn't see it at first because it all started happening little by little, but very quickly. It wasn't long before I found myself looking in the mirror, and not knowing who I was becoming. It was apparent that I had not given God enough priority in my life to where everything I said, did, and thought, was directly from Him. Sadly, it happens like that for many people. It is so easy to get off track in our relationship with God, and yield to the distractions and desires of the world. This is also a trick from the enemy. It is a common fact that the enemy does not want to see any of us reach our full potential in Christ. As a result, he places distractions, desires, disappointments, etc., in our path to keep us from realizing that God has far greater for us than we could EVER have for ourselves.

But the good news is, we have a forgiving and loving Heavenly Father, who receives us into His presence over and over again, regardless of how often or how much we may fail Him. He grants us grace and mercy from day to day, if we simply come to Him and confess and repent of our shortcomings. Isn't that such an awesome thought? The very God who created heaven and earth is ready and willing to forgive again and again, allowing us to be in relationship with Him once more. After I did this enough, I realized that I was continuing to place myself on this track in life, never becoming more than I was, because I was not focused enough to talk to God to see what He had in store for me. Once I made it a point to do so though, my life started changing for the better. I started behaving differently, planning differently, and believing differently. You would be surprised at how quickly things get better if we just give ourselves over to God. It's more than okay to do so! He loves us, and only wants the very best for us! If we just stopped and focused everything we have on Him and His will for us, we would find ourselves slowly, coming out of the constant circles (that continue

to go around and around) that we have placed ourselves in. Joyce Meyer said it best, "I'd rather be fruitful, than just busy in life". According to His will for our lives, our fruitfulness will take us to exactly where we are supposed to be. It will take us to exactly where He has ordained for us to be!
