"In order to get to better, you have to first, go through bad". (Steven Furtick) I learned this concept as I became more obedient to God. I learned that better was always around the corner for me. I simply didn't make it through "bad", in order to reach it. I would get so frustrated and doubtful in the dark places in life, that I found myself in, that I never realized that there actually was a brighter day coming (whether it be sooner or later). But, as I aligned myself more and more to God's will and when I finally decided that I would keep going, regardless of how ugly it was looking, I began to see open doors.
Once these doors began to open, it was as if my vision also began to open. It was as if the scales were lifting off of my eyes! I say this because, I kept missing my "open-door season". I kept missing the many blessings that God was trying to bestow upon me! But, when I realized that I kept entering in the same pit, I realized that I was the one doing something wrong the whole time. God was never the one doing something wrong. I kept missing my blessings, my break-through!The truth of the matter is, we all have an "open-door season" scheduled, under God's almighty hand (more than one even)! We all have a season of reaping and sowing scheduled! But, we simply must surrender our own thoughts and desires to God's will, in order to receive such bountiful blessings! We must learn that in our total obedience to His will, we gain access to all that He has for us! " I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name". (Revelation 3:8)
