Oh Come All Ye Faithful

" This popular Christmas Hymn hearkens to the biblical story of the birth of Christ. It is considered a reference to the shepherds, after hearing angels singing, coming to Bethlehem to adore their new-born savior. Today this hymn signifies and celebrates our coming together in worship to adore the loving blessing of Jesus, as he sacrificed himself for our salvation" (John Francis Wade). As I the Christmas season approaches, I am reminded of how faithful God has been to me. I am reminded of His constant walk with me-through everything that this life has thrown my way. I never want to forget how He kept me over and over again! I never want to forget how His love covered the multitude of my sin (1 Peter 4:8). And although the holiday season usually presents with many distractions, let us keep our focus on Christ. And let us always remember that distractions are created to keep our focus off of Christ. We must remember that we will always need Him- as He is Christ for all seasons. Along with staying focused on Him, we must also be filled with joy and peace-loving towards one another. "Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love." (1 John 4:7-8)

"Christmas is a busy season, and we have a thousand things on our minds and a thousand things to do. But, through it all, let us remember to come and adore the Christ who came into the world in this season to bring us light for our darkness-and joy-and life eternal. " (Richard Niell Donovan)
