From Double-Mindedness to Holiness!!

"A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways" (James 1:8). While I was teaching an MA (Medical Assistant) class today, I was reminded of the double-mindedness currently in the body of Christ. I held myself bound for so long and continued to miss the blessings and favor of the Father over my life because I was not living righteously as I should have been. These repeated acts of disobedience and rebellion put me in a constant danger zone because I continued to miss the things of God-over and over again! I wanted them to understand that we cannot live for the world and for God too! And I wanted them to also understand that in living in a double-minded manner, they place so many hindrances on their prayers being answered, on their obtaining and sustaining the peace, joy, and fullness of God, as well as,their growing in the word of God. In continuing to live in a double-mindedness way, we dim our own light (the love of God within us), and our effectiveness to minister/witness to those who are hurting, those still living ungodly, in an increasingly dark world.

We must be willing to rid ourselves of fleshly wants and desires that continue to deter us from the plans of God in our lives! And though this may not be an easy choice/decision to make, it has to be made! And if we continue on long enough, we would also see that it is more than worth it to make! We should all want to reach that place in which we are willing to cut off certain things and separate ourselves from anything that would keep us from getting closer to God! Although God never called any of us to be perfect, He did call for all of us to be holy! And in order for us to become holy, righteous, and under the full submission to God, we must be willing to face and conquer our own demons, our own fleshly wants and desires that keep us a part from Him. It's a shame that so many people are staying out of church because there are so many people in the church who continue to live double-mindedly and foolishly! So let us all lay aside every weight (Hebrews 12:1)! Let us all truly be a representation of God!
