From Broken to Mended!

I watched a movie once where a man told the woman he loved that he could not be with her because he was too broken, And in this movie, the woman replied back that "we are all broken". As I listened to their conversation in this movie, it dawned on me just how much truth was contained in this one conversation. I got to thinking about myself, and all of the times that I have been broken. This is how I came to learn that it doesn't matter how broken we are, or how broken we have been, we can still be mended! As I speak from experience< I am reminded of how I became restored by simply giving God all of my broken pieces. I remember that so many times in my life that I had become so fragile and felt so beyond repair. It was during these times of despair that I felt so broken that I would shatter completely at any moment. But it was also during these times that I came to learn truly, that brokenness becomes a beautiful thing when we let God do the mending. Yes life will break us in many ways, but in all of these ways, all of these times, we can be mended! And once God mends us, we become victorious!

If we choose to stay broken, we also choose to stay defeated. But if we allow God to mend us, we become victorious in our brokenness! We become mended! We become restored! But we have to make the right choice! Brokenness seems to be inevitable in life. But becoming mended is a choice! Our choice; but we have to make it! Brokenness is not the end of things in this life. It is the beginning of something new in this life! Becoming mended is the compass that allows God to do the very work in our lives that He has called us all to do! Whatever we are called to do individually, only we can do it! It's not a job for anybody else! So on this day, we must choose not to stay broken, but to become mended instead! Let us do the exact work God has called us all to do! Let us complete the inner work within ourselves so that we are able to do this very work! The victory is already won if we make the right choice today! "A victorious Christian is one who, in spite of worries, inner conflicts, and tensions, is confident that God is in control and will be victorious in the end"! (Billy Graham)
