When I was younger, growing up in church, all I would hear the old church folk saying was "Having faith in God is all you need". Although I knew this to be true on some level, as a child-growing up, I still had so much to learn about just how true this statement really was. I had heard the biblical definition numerous times: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen". (Hebrews 11:1); however, the entirely of such a powerful verse still didn't fully resonant with me. That is, until I found myself on the receiving end of many raw deals in life, and I absolutely had to apply it to the given situation, if I expected to make it out of it-fully sane. It was during these rough times though, where I often recalled God's people in church-suffering tremendously for various reasons, yet still having faith in God. I used to wonder, "why is it so imperative that we not only think on faith, but we must also operate in faith"? "Isn't just having faith enough?" Life has a way of showing us many things though. We just need to open our eyes to see what needs to be seen. As I entered adulthood, I quickly found out that simply declaring faith was not enough. I also discovered that it truly was important to operate in faith. It was so important to operate in faith because if you truly operated in faith, and not just declared that you had faith, this operation would shape your whole being. It would far surpass you just stating or declaring your faith. You become the epitome of faith once you operate in faith. It will show in everything you do-your walk, your talk, your thinking, your actions, etc. Once I grabbed hold of the concept of truly operating in faith, I began to see why the saints of my younger years were so zealous in their faith. For, they too, were not just declaring their faith, but they were truly operating in faith! Since I have learned the absolute importance of operating in faith, I can now experience the fullness of God in every situation I am faced with. I encourage anybody today who is struggling with the concept or simply declaring faith and totally operating faith. One thing is for sure, nothing moves God but FAITH. In saying so, it would be the very best investment for anybody to not only declare their faith, but to also operate in that faith.
