"Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes".
(Matthew 6:34) With so much going on in the world right now, it is easy to see that so many are worried and wondering what will happen next. It is easy to understand that people would be worried or concerned about what these sicknesses and diseases could possibly bring. But, God has called us all to cast all of our cares upon Him, because He cares for us. (1 Peter 5:7)
He has already said that we are not to be anxious about anything, but to remain prayerful in everything. (Philippians 4:6-7). So, if we know that He cares for us and will fight ALL of our battles, and will supply ALL of our needs, why do we worry about anything else? Why are we so concerned with what may happen with what is going on in the world right now? Why can't wee be more concerned or focused on whether or not He has our attention so that He can take care of us? After all, He has already said that He would!
It's so important to keep our focus where it needs to be-at all times-especially, when there is a world crisis. We are to keep our focus especially during these times because our eyes should be watching Him. We should wait for His response to this pandemic or epidemic. We should be willing to wait because we should be more concerned with how this will develop us more so into the people who only chase after Him! In this time where there is plenty opportunity for chaos and confusion, we should take this opportunity to look to Him more and more, readying ourselves more so for Him! We should take this opportunity to show others the God in us, through our peace, in this time. We should not get caught up in the hype of what is going on or in the stresses of this time. Instead, we should spend this time, seeking Him-in search of understanding, guidance and direction to weather this storm. But instead, we are seeking the reasons why this is happening and what will happen next! God did not design us to continually search for reasons of why or how in certain crisis times (if not all crisis times)! If that were the case, then we would not have the time or energy to lean and depend on Him for the answers, as He has called us to do! During this time, the only question we should ask ourselves is, "does He have my attention"? If that is not the only question on our minds, then I feel that we are asking the wrong questions. And as a result, we may just be reacting to this entire crisis wrong! God has already said, "Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad"! (Proverbs 12:25)
