"I show my scars so that others know they can heal" (Rhachelle Nicol). Why is it that we as humans, want results without the work? Why is it that we learn the true importance of healing after devastating results happen- in given situations-that could have otherwise been avoided, had we just made the decision to heal first? It took me many years to heal from the wounds and scars of my past, and from bad decisions in my past, and in my lifetime. But when I finally made the point to do the work, to receive healing, I also received freedom,! When God set me free, He truly set me FREE! And once I was able to walk in such freedom, so much joy and peace was also released with. A major, but positive, difference occurred in my life and in me! Something happened in/to my spirit! Something happened in/to my mind! But it took for me to finally make the decision to heal and forgive others who have wronged me, and forgive myself for not doing what I was supposed to be doing in the will of God. As long as I was operating in unhealthy and negative emotions and behavior, I kept missing the major shift that God had intended for me (in the first place)! It took me to fully heal, before I realized just how important it really is to be healed!
I now know that healing should be a requirement in all of our lives, if we are expecting things from God! We must learn to do the work, before we can see the results and blessings that come with ultimate healing! We must get passed the idea that we have to hold onto hurt so that we can have something to hold on too! Unhealed emotions are toxic! And if we continue to neglect our healing, it will most definitely show up in another area of our lives. We will become dependent on unhealthy things and unhealthy people! We become more depended on vices, and are likely to chase after our fleshly desires, instead of spiritual discernment (that only comes from God)! Let us learn to operate and function in this life in a healthy manner! Let us chase healing and wholeness so that we can effectively walk in the purpose that God has already ordained for us all! Let us do the work! "Healing does not mean the damage never existed. It means the damage no longer controls our lives" (Daily Dose).
