Breaking Off Dysfunction!!

"Dysfunction is defined as abnormality or impairment in the function of a specified bodily organ or system". "The word dysfunction is often used to describe individuals, families, relationships, organizations, and even governments". (odb.org) I used to feel that dysfunction was just a part of life, and that I was supposed to get used to it, and keep moving forward. I thought that trials and tribulations were normal, and there was nothing I could do to fix it. But, I was wrong! I mentioned before that I grew up in church; but, I still had no relationship with God. I only had religion. I was not aware that I am able to choose how I would react to trials and tribulations in my life. I did not know that I am always able to choose peace, regardless of what I am going through. I did not realize that I could make the decision to not get accustomed to dysfunction, and choose to be functional in any or all area of my life that I choose. And after repeated cycles of dysfunction, I grew closer to God because I was tired! And I was desperate! And He began to show me how to not only break off dysfunction, but also, how to stay in peace, while doing so.

I also learned during this time, that I was not only accepting dysfunction in my life, I was holding on to it myself! Because, I was used to it, I didn't even try to live life without it! It was then that I realized that I had so much dysfunction in my world, because I allowed it to be there! I had finally realized that my willingness to hold on to unhealthy things-namely dysfunction-enabled them to manifest! But, we all have done that though, haven't we? We all have held on to unhealthy things in our lives, and because of that, they manifest in our lives, in our world! But, that was never God's intention for any of us! However, we become so distracted or so consumed with things that go awry in life that we forget to let God order our steps, direct our paths! God has intended far greater things for us all! So, why not search Him more than ever now? Give Him control, and allow Him to break off the chains of dysfunction!
